2001-06-11: Hag's Head

Leaving the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre behind, we turned south and followed a small country road out towards Hag’s Head, the south-western end of the cliffs. There is a small watch tower at Hag’s Head, once built to signal a hypothetical attack by Napoleon on the western coast, but it has fallen into disrepair and can no longer be climbed. Still, the head is an excellent place to view the Cliffs and much more quiet than the area around the official visitor centre.
